KV-1 (Model 1942)

Rick took Trumpeter's kit no. 00358, Russia KV1 (Model 1942) Simplified Turret Tank, and built it out of the box. He used Adam Wilder's "Finishing Techniques" series of YouTube videos for some general weathering guidance, and employed a generous does of AK's Dust and Dirt Deposits Weathering Set (ak4060).

About Rick Cooper (clovis899)
FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

I have been modeling for about 30 years now. Once upon a time in another century I owned my own hobby shop; way more work than it was worth. I tip my opti-visor to those who make a real living at it. Mainly build armor these days but I keep working at figures, planes and the occasional ship.

@clovis899 - Rick, Nice one! What it would look like coming from a black and white photograph. ~ Eddy

Great work with the finish. Looks appropriately banged up and worn from trying to hold back the Wehrmacht.

Rick, beautiful build! I need to do one for Operation Uranus in 1942 from Southwestern Front! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, glad that you like it. Good catch Neil, never even noticed how crystal clear the head lamp looked until you pointed it out. Brenton, the dust layer is an enamel product from AK that is like a heavy wash with extra pigment added in for additional body. Cheers, Rick

Bill, We need to be careful about our particular tastes or Jim may come up with a "Dirty Old Man" badge to stick on our header!
