My Secret Base

  • move
Sen has built a very nice little vignette using a picture frame as the base. The scene is made up of scratch built components using made up of thin board, styrene shapes, ABS board, iron wire mesh, and copper. A section of Minart stairs was also used and Tamiya's putty was used to make the wall texture. The 1:35 resin figure playing the violin is from Alpine Miniatures. The scene was primed with Mr Hobby's surfacer and painted with Tamiya paints,Pebeo oil paints were used to make an antiquing effect,Vallejo ’s water effect was used for the water.

I guess I was just going by the fact that place is called "ArmoramA Military Scale Modeling". Someone made the same snarky comment about a post that was elephants with soldiers. At least that had some military scene...

ERROR! This is a great dio, armor or no armor. Looks like a scale figure, though! Ha. Anyway, the error is that the figure is Bravo 6 not Alpine.

absolutely stunning dio. you managed to capture such a heavy atmosphere i haven't seen in a diorama in a long time. i can almost hear the violin playing. big respect!

Armorama also covers figures and this diorama would seem to fit our site nicely. Just because a tank or such is not in a diorama does not make it unsuitable for the site.

I really like the diorama, nice work on the wooden parts. I also like the lighting used to create the atmosphere for the photo.
