Balsa Foam Sculpting

While attending the Scale Model World event in November I had a talk with a company called Breveco Modelling, Breveco Modelling is a company from the Netherlands who provide a diorama modelling product called Balsa Foam. The product is supplied in sheets of various sizes and in three grades of hardness. The product at its softest will easily take stamps such as the glass embossed rollers that are available. I felt that this product would be of a lot of interest to you all and requested a tutorial on the product, this was provided in the form of a PDF file and I have broken it down with imbedded text for you all. This document was prepared by Frerik Noordhuis.

The sections covered are as follows: Balsa Foam - Sculpting Made Easy! Step-by-Step Ornaments Protection Finishing touches - Cracks Seams Hiding Seams!

The stuff really does suck up the paint...I've been using cheap acrylics available at Michael's for about $1.25 a bottle - saves wasting expensive enamels on groundwork.

Thanks Darren, this is so cool to see how the masters do it. It is just too easy to take that skill level for granted and that those that are really good at it are really craftsman and artists.
