Massive fan of British armour but a little disappointed by this. It does look a nice kit but we are already well served by AFV-Club and Mini Art. It would have been nice to see some of the more unusual types that haven't be covered elsewhere - Matilda I or an A9 but I can understand why Tamiya might have thought them a bit risky. But there is one glaring omission that is dying out for a decent model - the A15 Crusader. Apart from the very old Italeri offerings this tank has been pretty much ignored in 1:35. Tamiya do a nice one in 1:48 so if I had known a 1:35 British Tank was coming I would have guessed a Crusader. But would never have guessed the Valentine - nice as the model is it is already covered more than well enough. Cheers, Nigel

The Italeri Crusader is pretty decent actually.

Decent for a 1976 model, but we could do with a modern kit. The point I was making is that we already have very good modern Valentines from at least two manufacturers. It would have been better, in my opinion, if Tamiya had taken the opportunity to do something else. Reckon they they would sell a lot more Crusaders than they would Valentines. I'm a big British armour fan, so anything new catche my interest. But I won't be buying the Tamiya Valentine because I already have the AFV Club kit. Had Tamiya released a Crusader, or a Matilda I or an A9 then I would have been first in the queue to buy one. Cheers, Nigel

Seems Tamiya has just released a Crusader. Unfortunately it is not a new mould but an update of the Italeri kit. This may not be all bad though - depends on what they have done in the upgrade. Waiting for a decent review to see whether it is worth buying
