This is Meng's 1:35 Leopard 1A5. I built the kit a while ago, and recently got around to repainting the model. I did this using the new AK-Interactive Real Color NATO set. The model was then finished inspired by a photo I found in a Tankograd publication on the Leopard 1.

Nicely done! Now I have to get off my duff and build that long-of-tooth Italeri kit. It'll be a test of skills making it as nice as yours; the Meng kit sure is an improvement.

Jasper, fantastic work! My partnership unit in the Bundeswehr from 12th Panzer Division had Leo1A5s. I’ve always loved these tanks. I have the same kit....any issues with construction from your end? My best, Bill

A very nice looking Leopard. Subtle weathering and lovely attention to detail.

Thank you Frank! I built the Revell 1A1A1, which is more or less the same as your 1A5 kit. I quite enjoyed that build, no where close to the level of detail and engineering of the Meng kit, but still an enjoyable build. Good luck with yours Frank!

Thank you so much Bill, much appreciated! I love the Leopard series, but I think the 1A5 has to be my personal favorite. The kit is superb, and an absolute joy to build. The only problems I encountered were the front mudflaps which had a bit of a gap between them, and the correct placing of the turret armour. The last point was my own fault Overall a very, very enjoyable kit with a great result. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did with mine!
Regards,
Jasper
