Jason recently finished this M1296 APC from Panda Models. Jason built the kit mostly out of the box except for some PE parts from ET Model to replace the poor details on the orignal kit. He used VMS hull tex products to create the non-slip surfaces on the turret and the upper-hull. The model was painted with Vallejo acrylics and weathered with Tamiya enamels and MIG pigments.
Jason offers some further thoughts about this Panda offering, including the moulding of the plastic parts not being that good, with some serious sink marks and some damaged (during injection, he surmises) details on several parts. It took some effort to put it together, and fortunately the final result came out looking quite good.

Really nice work. I like the way you did not over weather this model something that I think I do to much of on my projects. This is something I want to try more of thanks for showing this, it gives me a good baseline for weathering of my next model. Now if I could get my skills to your level of master.

VERY NICE, Jason! I'm going to have to hunt one of these up to add to the rest of my Strykers...

I will be doing the build review when I receive the kit from Jim and Darren.
Otherwise, Jason, you did an awesome job.

Very impressive, Jason!
Amazing that Panda created a model of the M1296 in a short amount of time.

To be honest, I am not convinced with this kit. The dislike mis-sing studs for Slat armor on turrat and the missins add-on armor on the rear ramp. I also wonder if they replicated the driver Enhancement Kit in all its complexity or just the front mounting? The position of the main gun is wrong, it should be 45°. Another poor kit from Panda, I rather put my money into the AFV Club release.
