The K808 is a new South Korean armored personnel carrier. It was developed by Hyundai Rotem to meet requirements of the South Korean Army. Development began in 2012. The K808 has an 8x8 configuration. The baseline vehicle is an infantry carrier. It is planned that there will be variants of the K808, such as an anti-aircraft vehicle, armed with a 30 mm cannons, and command post vehicle. Also previously Hyundai Rotem demonstrated a number of developments, including a Jupiter 120 mm fire support vehicle, 30 mm anti-aircraft vehicle and 120 mm mortar carrier.
Kai used Trumpeter's Stryker(01512) as the basis for this model, using the chassis parts, the inner structure and hatch covers. He adjusted the wheelbase to suit his requirements and used resin tyres for the LAV-25. Most of the car body is built with ABS board.
Kai brush painted the model using acrylics. The camouflage colors are NATO Green(Tamiya XF-67), Field Brown(Tamiya XF72+XF79),US Desert Armour(AV 71.122)and Flat Black(Tamiya XF-1), all top coated with Mr HOBBY Clear.
Weathering was accomplished with Zippo oil ,oil paints, AK (AK016 ,AK046), Mig (fresh mud mig-1402 )and Quanwei (Dust q01008). BTW:Quanwei is a Chinese model consumables manufacturer.
