Leopard 1A1A4

  • move
This is my favourite member of the Leopard 1 family, but unfortunately there are no kits for this particular version on the market anymore. I decided to try to replicate a 1A1A4 by converting Italeri's Leopard 1A5. I also added some more detail by changing some of the kits parts for newer parts from the Revell Leopard 1A1. I also used a Eduard Photo-Etch set. The model was painted using AK Interactive's outstanding Real Color paints. I also decided to try something new for the weathering phase of the build: Pigment weathering. I think it turned out quite nicely for a first try!

I've got the Italeri kit somewhere in the stash and after seeing yours guess that I should give it a build and hope that it comes out as well as yours. Nicely done!

Hi Colin, Your modl looks great. I would like to ask how did you apply the weathering with pigments? Is there some article about it? The result is great on your Leo. Regards, Tamas
