8-inch Gun M1
This 8-inch Gun M1 is displayed in firing configuration at the 45th Infantry Division Museum. The first 3 photos from the upper left are color-corrected to represent the natural color of the gun. That color does not appear authentic for WWII.Apparently these guns were not satisfactory and thus US Army acquired only 139 of them.

Nice !! I always wanted to build one of these along with the full tracked carrier. Nice detail shots here.
As an aside,US Navy heavy cruisers had at least 9 of these massive guns ! A salvo like that could ruin your whole day.

Love t when people post these kinds of pics on the site, it adds so much to see detailed photos of the real thing rather than wrangle over details in B&W in some book.

Hi Fred
Thank you for posting the pictures. They are useful to me.
Where are they on display.
I have been scratch building the M1 240mm Howitzer and the M1 8 inch gun for a long time now and I'm almost finished. I'm also scratch building the tracked wagons. I still have to post the up to date pictures on my web page.
