Can anyone point me in the right direction for aftermarket tracks for the Dragon Late Tiger 1. If none are available has anyone any ideas as to how to stretch the tracks.
The reason for my question is that the tracks with the kit are to short to join together. I think the kit I have is an early kit, as the box has "patemt pending" on the side of the box.

Model Kasten 1/35 MKSSK01 Tiger I Late they have them in stock at greatmodels.com for $29.95 USD. I've used Model Kasten for a Sherman and T-55 they are outstanding.

Could you tell us more about the tracks that you got in the box? That doesn't sound like the Dragon Tiger 1 Late , kit #6253.

Guys - I think he's talking about the 1:72 DML Tiger Late. #7203, I think.
I'm not aware of any AM tracks for these. Interestingly enough, the Mid production I've got on the bench now had tracks that were too long. I had to cut a couple of links out and carefully mate the ends.
Are the tracks made from DS? I've done some slight stretching on Sherman tracks made from DS. If they're regular vinyl, I'm not so sure.
Is your running gear installed properly? I wonder if something is out of line causing the shortage.

My error yes it is the 1:72 kit. I have reinstalled the running gear 4 times and everytime the same result.
Just got back into modelling, can you explain DS, I think they are vynl. I am just wondering if they lenghtened the tracks, as I said this box had patent pending, and was an early run, so ave asked Dragon for their advice or if they could send me a replacement set.

DS stands for Dragon Styrene...
If your tracks are a real light Tan or Cream color...
then they are DS.
They take glue "very" well.
I use "super" glue for mine.
Some times you can warm them up in hot water ,
tie them to some thing,
and tie a weight to the other end......
this will gently stretch them.
But this is a Trail & Error thing.

Ken,
These are black, therefore I am assuming they are vynl, and they are awful, remind me of the old Airfix tracks. The kit is wonderful, went together really well and is very detailed, its just been let down by the tracks.
Will advise what Dragon has to say in due course

Andrew - they were vinyl tracks on my mid. Those pre-DS tracks don't see to have a good track record (no pun intended) The rest of the kit was a pleasure to build.
Good luck and welcome back to the hobby. Keep us posted!
Oh yeah, you did file your initial post under Braille Scale. That's how I figured out that you were talking 1:72.

The only AM tracks for braille I can think of, are transportation tracks for the Tiger, done in PE (photo-etch) by OKB Grigorov.
