I seem to remember that Tamiya use to do a Leopard 2A4; am I wrong here? I want to make a A4 as used by the Danish Army prior to the A5DK. I therefore need a kit to make it. I know that Italerie/Rewell made one some years ago but I’d prefer Tamiya’s (if it ever was around).
If I’m right and anyone out there want to sell it, I’ll appreciate it. Since Italerie and Reweel’s seem hard to find too, I’ll be interested in hearing about those too.

To make a Danish Leopard 2A4 you basically have only one choise, and that is Revells Leopard 2A4. I have used a couple to make the Norwegian versions and the kit is pretty good.

Hej Eric
I feared so. I’ve seen the Italerie/Rewell version and I think it lacks a bit on details. Do you think it’s possible to move the necessary turrets parts from Italerie/Rewell to a Tamiya Leopard IIA5/6? It should to be possible to use the hull unmotified?

It's the Leopard IIA4 I'm after at the moment
I am looking for Italerie's Leopard 1A4 too though, but have more or less given up om it.

It is possible and has been done before, but it's not quite so simple. The driver's hatch and surrounding area would have to be rebuilt on the Tamiya hull (2A5/6 went to a sliding hatch). There is an article in Armour Modelling magazine Vol.24 Dec.2000, but it's in Japanese.

I see those kits all the time in the US. Of course over here (like I am sure what you model) the preferred kits is what your country uses for us the M1 Abrams and M60 Patton series. I'm just focusing on modern armor here. I picked up a great Leopard collection on ebay.....at reasonable prices. You may want to order from Luckymodel or Great models. I only see the Revell version for a 2a4

Hobby Boss has promised a Leo 2A4 in 1/35th. So far, their Scandinavian versions are available. Reviews were a mixed bag, but the upcoming kit may still be an improvement over the Revell Germany/Italeri incarnation.
