I am in the process of building this kit. Where do parts D25 go? The instructions are vague and they are not shown on the finished wheel assembly.
Thanks
Mike
Ps
Are parts d5 too short?

Mike,

Do you mean D5 in step 2? If so, the ends of D5 fit into partial holes on each side of D32 and D21 when they are mated together. The upper portion of D5 rests against the middle support beam of D33. It took me a while to figure it out and finally found a picture in the M2 / M3 Halftrack walk around. If you need a scan, let me know.

Now if its D25 then its a seat cushion in step 9.

In step two there are two parts listed as D5. (my mistake on the D25). I believe I have figured it out where they both go. I appreciate your help.

In the new M4 kit, they are both shown as A5 too. Here's a couple of my pics which should help, but sounds like you've figured it out already

Cheers

Jim

Will you look at the mold line they left on the boogie units!!! It’s inexcusable on a 1-1 scale model lol Just kidding of course!!

I am building the same kit, and it looks like we are on the same steps at the same time. Part D5 took me a while to figure out also. The outward spring tension on the other parts made using CA a wise decision that was not realized until the second set. Tonight, onward to the chassis!

I completed work on the chassis last night, which included the bogies and tracks. For those who have not completed this yet, having all of the parts properly aligned and square to the vehicle is critical on this step. It may just be me, but the rubber tracks are such a tight fit, that I broke the rear sprocket off trying to get it mounted.

As this is my first non-modern piece, does anyone have a suggestion for correct paint color for the body? I know the answer is green, or olive drab, I am curious if anyone has the FS number and what paint is the closest match.

Thanks,

Michael

I think Tamiya OD is the closest match. I add a bit of Tamiya dark yellow to lighten it up a bit as its pretty dark in 1/35 scale.

Yep, Tamiya OD with a touch of dark yellow to lighten it a bit for scale.

There are no proper FS matches for WW II Army OD.
