Hello,

after long years I've decided to come back to my old hobby. Well, not exactly since I'd like to try some 1/35 AFV as opose to flying ones I did back then, but still close enough

After messing around with some sources I finally picked up M8 Greyhound as a starting point. So far I've located only one kit - Tamiya's. It seems to be well done (except it apparently contains one radio station only - I need 2 since I'm going to build a recon version - not to mention interior modifications). Should be fairly doable. I'm wondering however, if there are some other comparable kits of this machine, I might have missed?

Thanks in advance

Italeri also does a commonly available 1/35 M8 Armored car but the Tamiya one is a nicer build from all accounts. Welcome back!

Italeri also make a greyhound, although I believe its not up to the same standard as the Tamiya model. Verlinden, among others make fairly nice update kits for this, including extra detail for the interior, also sculpted stowage for the turret and cold weather tarps. They also make an engine set. TMD make resin wheels with chains, and Blast have several stoage packages. Aber have a useful etched set and resicast make a small set that allows the steering to be positioned. Theres more .. these are just of the top of my head!

First of all, thanks for responses...

I've noticed some extension sets for Italeri M8 in 1/35 around the Internet. The company website however pops up 1/72 scale only. Despite the fact I have ultimately found 2 Italeri's on eBay, I like Tamiya better.

I appreciate the note on extension sets, especially the Verlinden's interior/exterior.

Any recommendation for good decals? I basically need (so far) just simple markings (I'm aiming at a specific vehicle of 23rd Recon, 16th AD).

Thanks once more...
