Hi there!
I'd like to build a Leopard 1A1, I've been searching and I found the only kit available is from Revell Germany (1/35).
Does anybody have any comments or have built this model? I'd like to know if it's a good model or not, and if there is any PE set designed for it (I'd like to try a PE set for the first time in my life in this model).
Any help is welcomed!
Thanks on advance....

Paulo, along with R of G Tamiya makes the kit # 35064 West Germany Leopard A1 MBT,

BTW, is this the kit you're looking at: kit # 3017 Leopard 1 A1A1 - A1A4.

As far as detail sets,Eduard does , it would seem to have a set for the 1A1, Eduard also does have these:

35084 Leopard 1 A4 Detail Set
35101 Leopard II Detail Set
35120 Flakpanzer Gepard
35302 Leopard 2 AK KWS Detail Set
35338 Leopard 1A2 Detail Set
35340 Leopard 2A5 Detail Set
xt36 Leopard 2A5 Periscope Mask

Paulo, the Revell of Germany one is based on the outstanding Italeri Leopard 1A4. The Leo 1A4 is one of Italeri's best kits in fit, accuracy and detailing. The molds themselves are almost 20 years old. I do not know if RoG reworked the molds (unlikely) or made a new sprue with 1A1 parts to add to or replace on the Italeri kit (most likely).

Tamiya does make a Leo A1, but the kit is 30 yrs old and is not even close in quality to the Italeri Leo 1A4. That old kit was designed when Tamiya still motorized their kits and has all the normal motorization pitfalls. Interestingly though, if you are looking for a Leo 2, the new Tamiya kit is quantum leaps ahead of the Italeri Leo 2, which was one of their worst kits.

Eduard does make detail sets for the Leopards,

This is the one for the Tamiya Leo 1A4 (#35084), they also make one for the Italeri Leo 1A2 (#35338)

Great Models http://www.greatmodels.com/ has the RoG Leo 1 A1A1-A1A4 on sale for $22.55 and the Eduard detail sets for $11.60 and $15.45 respectively.

Look for detail sets for the different Leopard 1s (A1, A1A1, A1A4, etc.) as they will have a lot of commonality of parts. Don't look for the detail sets for the Leopard II or 2 as they have little in common with the Leo 1 series of tanks.

Bom dia Paulo!

You will enjoy the Revell kit. I built the 1A5 and was very pleased. I built it OOB and it's for that. What references do you have for Brazilian A1s?
