Lots of the older Tamiya kits have holes for moterization, I'm wondering why they stopped producing/billing the kits as moterized?

Because in order to accommdate motorization for the motor, batteries, etc. the tank's size need to be altered. So in order to meet forsake of accuracy, then it got droped. Because most modellers whom build them would not actually making the model motorized.

Many of Trumpeter's kits include motorization. Tamiya recently reissued their old M41 Bulldog and M42 Duster with motorization gearboxes. Tamiya also reissued some of their top-line 1/35 scale kits like the Tiger, King Tiger and M1A1 complete with motorization and R/C radio control.

Is motorization making a comeback? I remember those early Tamiya kits the track scked and the big wholes in the side. Hope they give us a choice in future kits

Because people's models kept driving away from them, so they had to quit making it so people wouldn't get mad and not buy their product.

HA HA HA! Sorry! Had ta write that one.

Let's see...motorized model tank that only goes in a straight line until it his the wall and breaks off the gun. Whose marketing idea was that? The only logical application was as a special effect in an old Godzilla movie where the tank went ina straight line until it got melted by the big guys atomic breath or he stomped on it. #:-)
