Would anyone be interested in a Command and Control vehicle campaign? It would be open to anything from dedicated command vehicles, to command tanks, to controlling vehicles like artillery observation vehicles.

Examples could be:
M577 Command Post Vehicle
T-80 Command Tank
M-981 FIST-V
Staff Cars, etc

Most of my examples are purely modern, because its what I know best. The campaign, however, would be open to any era. I would also welcome any who like aircraft, as I feel the AWACS and JSTARS would fit in well.

**I have also posted this in the AFV forum. To make it easy for me to see how many are interested, please do not post here if you already have in the other thread, thank you **

Kevin,

You would turn around and come up with an idea that would (heaven forbid) make me pull out my Italeri M923 and Shelter and finally build my namesake; the ever, oh so comfortable, TacFire Shelter. Dagnabbit!!

For others thinking about "command and control;" Dragon's new Kubel...a Half-Track with all the radios...a HMMWV with the 4-pack + of FM raddidios....et cetera.

Hope this one gets the attention it so deserves! Too kool.

Mike, you haven't actually built your namesake yet? For shame!
Glad to see you are interested. I will probably built a FIST-V myself, because its been sitting on my shelf for so long.

it would be a really interesting campaign to see some interesting and different vehicles, and a good reason for me to start to build a Panzer III D1 i have in my closet

Emre, oooooo! Not up to me, but I'd be thinkin' so!! Do you perchance have any reference photos you'd be willing to share??? Hint, hint!

And to add to the pot; how about the M934(?) Expando (Expansible Van)? Had one of those while in Germany too.....decked that baby out to be a "seriously serious" rollin' office! SGM Lytle and I had a whole lotta fun doing that one up! (3rd AD Artillery - S-3 Van.....S-2's was nice too...but they didn't have a coffee pot!!)

Nope sorry, no pics yet. I just happen to have Italeri's M-925 Shelter Truck in my stash, once upon a time I used to collect military trucks...

This might be the excuse to build the poor bugger, I got it in a discount then forgot all about it...

By the way, I'm not familiar with shelter trucks. What is their purpose? Are they simply wheeled command posts, or does "shelter" mean they are shelters to protect from NBC weapons or something like that? The truck doesn't have that "tough" look for NBC purposes though...

Emre, I would count it. I can't say in all cases, but the shelter trucks are used as command vehicles.

Well, on this thread and the other, we have 7 interested. Are there at least 3 more out there willing to jump on the bandwagon?

Remember, I am counting staff cars, Kubels, command tracks, artillery directors and observers....anything used in a command and control role.
