Greetings fellow modelers.
I´ve just finished my GDR project containing a couple of T´s and BMP´s from the old German Democratic Republic, so i'm on the lookout for any excuses to start another "soviet" project. And after catching a glimpse of a north korean parade on the TV i´ve decided to start a North Korean project.
A few hours of frantic searching on the subject " NK tanks" i managed to get a hold of this gem:
http://www.answers.com/topic/ch-onma-ho
After a quite interesting read i decided to start of my NK project whit this "modern" North Korean Peoples Army Ch`onma-ho tank.
But now to the real challange......how do i "build" it, what kit(s) to use, where can i get NK armour decals, are there any NK photo etches out there, are there any NK armour "upgrades" out there?
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

well,
I think that you are a brave man for trying to build anything North Korean. Since mr Kim Yong Il does not really like other people interfering with his politics, the country is basically unaccessible for outsiders, just like the old USSR.
The tanks in you pic look a lot like T-62's with ERA on the side and some skirts
more info:

and of course good old wikipedia with a nice drawing

I would start with a basic T-62 kit, Since NK built the tanks themselves, there is no point in getting an really accurate Russian one.

All I can say is good luck. The North Korean's Famous paranoia knows no bonds. Finding written information about a serving armored vehicle will be hard enough. Locating pictures of any quality will be a job. I wish I could help. Good luck

Very interesting subject, but definently a difficult one. On the other hand it is very difficult for others to prove you wrong on you finished build
Good luck!
