Hello Everybody
As far as I know, the KV-2 had a V-2 engine; same as the T-34 engine (correct me if I'm wrong). I've only seen the Maquette one so far. Does anyone know of another set or is this it? Also, does anyone know of a good reference for KV-2 or KV-1 engine compartment interiors? I'm guessing they are both the same.
Anyway, here are some photos of my KV-1E. My next project hopefully will be an old knocked out KV-2.
Cheers

Hi Brett,
I struggled with KV-2's engine 3 weeks ago
Finally I used an old T-35 engine, modified. There are some good pics of KV-2#s abandoned because of engine trouble. My conclusion was to turn the turret at 9 o'clock and to fix the engine hatch with the small steel-rope to the grab handles on the turret-sides. The hatches-inside color is somewhat different to the outside
Look here: http://mechcorps.rkka.ru/files/kv2/images/kv-2_306.jpg or here http://mechcorps.rkka.ru/files/kv2/images/kv-2_150.jpg and finally http://mechcorps.rkka.ru/files/kv2/images/kv-2_339.jpg
(The whole collection is simply superb and still growing!)
A last comment: leave the turrets back hatch closed unless you will be depicting work on the gun! It wasn't a crew access hatch/door.

Wow! Sounds stressful. Do you have any photos? What reference did you use for the engine?
Thanks Brett

I'll have another go at putting my photos up again. I'm barely computer literate.

That's a very nice diorama, a good sense of movement. I assume the Germans' AT gun is out of shells, since they allowed a tank get so close?
