The Eduard set is nice and the Aber one is also nice. It depends on what you want. The Eduard set will give you the basics while the Aber set will give you the basics plus a whole lot more.

Hey Bud long time no see!! So what happened to that Sturmtiger you were going to build ..lol....Well I think I would go for the Edward set for the sherman ...not really that much needed except for light guards and sights etc...have fun with the Sherman ..but remember they are addictive...

I use the On The Mark Models sets. Like Eduard, they have just enough to dress up the Sherman but I prefer the On The Mark quality. And they don't have a gozillion parts, half of which are not necessary, like Aber.

Verlinden's Sherman Super detail set for the Tamiya M4A3 or Italeri M4A1 is the granddaddy of PE sets and gave you just enought to dress up the kit. It even gave a .50 cal cradle mount and a few "links" of chain. Probably runs half as much or less than the current Eduard sets.

I have used On the Mark for years, but they are getting harder to find. Aber and Eduard give you way more pieces than you really need. Forgive me Rob, but I always thought the Verlinden set looked a little "clunky."

My new favorite is from FineMolds. Each set contains headlight guards, taillight guards, siren guards, periscope guards, tiedowns -- all usable on any mark of Sherman. What's really nice is each set includes parts for TWO Shermans. Curiously, there is only one external gun sight in each set, but I have plenty of spares left over from old On the Mark sets. The only "ding" I can give the FineMolds set is that the parts are rather fragile -- I managed to break the gunsight trying to remove it from the frame.

Hi, I have to agree with Sabot. I'm working with the Verlinden Sherman super-detail set, and it's working out fine.
When you combine it with the worn road-wheels, also Verlinden, it even looks better.

Good luck, John.
