On the Italeri LVT A4 (6396) what exactly are the "bubbles" on the top of both forward hatches? The kit says they're windows but all the pics I see of other A4's don't have these on them??? I can't find any good references for them. I would like to paint a Iwo Jima A4 so what ever would be accurate for that time. Thanks.

They were clear plastic bubbles over the periscopes on real early models.

So then I shouldn't use them for Iwo and try to find other hatches? If so where could I find just the hatches that I need without spending a lot of money? Thanks!

I'm not aware of any resin replacements.
As I do not have the kit, the best suggestion I can give is possibly shaving and sanding off the bubbles, and using one of the AM resin/plastic periscope sets.

Hellbent, give me a few days to go through my stuff, we are short at work, and I've been working over time everyday.
