I’ve heard nothing but great superlatives used to describe this kit and I’m strongly considering adding it to my stash.

I’ve seen some of you do magnificent things with this kit in terms of adding scratch built slat armor and tie-downs etc.

But I would like to know how difficult is AFV’s Stryker to build right out of the box? For instance, Dragon’s M1A1 AIM is outstanding but I consider it difficult due to the myriad of small parts etc.

In short, I’m not sure I have the time or energy to tackle something as elaborate as Dragon’s M1 AIM right now – is AFV’s Stryker equally challenging?

Thanks,
Noah

im building it right now, and it isnt hard to work on at all. I built the AFV Club Scimitar and it was a blast, and this Stryker is the same way. Just becareful of the tiny grab handles dont get eaten by the carpet monster!

It is almost as well engineered as a Tamiya kit. Comes together nicely. As AJ has pointed out you need to be careful removing some smaller parts such as grab handles, but this is good since they did their best to make them to scale.

See my review of the AFV kit here at Armorama.

In your original post you seem to be mixing the Trumpeter kit with the AFV kit. Nobody here as far as I know has tried the slat with the AFV kit.

Go buy it. It is well worth it.

Thanks for the responses. I ordered my Stryker on Tuesday and am anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Take care,
Noah
