I read the review of Dragon's ARVN Marines figure set, and the reviewer wasn't impressed with them. Are there any better ones out there anywhere?

For only ARVN Rangers I am not sure, but Dragon makes some other pretty good Vietnam Era sites. If Resin is your fancy and you don't mind the cost, Hobby Fan has some great Vietnam figure sets, most if not all in action poses.

I looked up Hobby Fan figures, but the only Vietnam-related figures I've been able to find so far are American soldiers in Vietnam.

For Vietnamese civilians/VC verlinden do a set (0298), plus you get a couple in the small boats set (0570)but none in the excellent Sampan set - and all costly. The Dragon Vietcong set is supposed to be ok, and they also do (or did) a Mac Sog set which looks like a mix of US and Vietnamese soldiers... and for what it's worth, the HobbyFan sets of US marines, especially the 5 on top of the LVTP are incredible quality - out of this world and well worth the money...
