That is a real good idea except, cases of beer back then would have been in half cardbard boxes not these nifty little 12 packs with bright colorful labels. The cans were generally white with a colored logo, so best bet is to get some round sprue about the right diameter cut it into cans paint white and add a logo to it

Black label was a popular beer during that period. So was Blue ribbon, Schlitz, Rolling rock, Falstaff. I hope that gives you a few more options.
