I just got the Dragon M1A1 HA Abrams kit #3533. I know it will be a miserable fitting job.But all I have is time. What detail sets are there out there from PE to resin. Is there any good reference sites to make this accurate. I might have the engine being replace or maybe refueling and reloading ammo sounds good.

It is not that bad. I have built a couple of this kit and loved it. Used a PE set from Eduard and parts from Tamiyas M1A2 OIF and from the J-sprue from Academys M1A1 OIF to build a USMC version. Decals from Echelon is very nice and you can use tracks from AFV Club. Both Legend and Real model makes some very good stowage sets with lots of useful goodies. I also used a metal barrel, but I dont remember the company name.

Primeportal and Tanxheaven have good references to the Abrams

Nice tank. One of the few Abrams I've seen with the tow cables set at the right angle on the turret.
