Hi Guys!
Revell has announced to produce a 03083 BMP-2 (november 2007). Is this a rebox or a totally new release?

Just curious

Revell has reboxed DML kits in the past, the kit is most likely the 1990ish DML kit.
But, having said that, Revell has recently reboxed the former Esci M60A3TTS kit, and Esci did have a BMP-2 in their product line.

Thanks Rob!
I really hope that Trumpeter will speed up their development on their BMP serie.

Nine out of ten times, when Revell releases a 1/35 scale armor kit, it is normally an older rebox of another company's kit. The tenth time is normally a modern Bundeswehr vehicle that they produce themselves.

Same story as with their T-80UD and T-72 kits. I think somewhere on Cybermodeler, it clearly said that it is going to be DML's reboxing. Revell is swapping forms with Zvezda, so considering this if you really want to make BMP-2 model out of DML's kit, just find original boxing. Beware, turret, upper hull and wheels are dimensionally incorrect and lack appropriate level of detail by today's standards. Trumpeter is our only hope now, they promised to release BMP-3 in July.....
