Hi All,
Thinking of starting the Academy kit #1393 as a British GMC.
I've been looking through the instructions and detail painting guides are few and far between.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some colours to use for the interior (Gearbox in step 5 and gun breech for example).
I'm not looking for anything major, just enough to break up the monotony of the interior colour a bit.
Oh, and while I'm here can anyone tell me what parts C2, C7 and C8 (step 15) are? it looks like a wading trunk kind of thing only upside down.
The instructions say to fix them on the rear of the lower hull, but this hides the tow hook and shackle points.
TIA
Tom

White in the Interior and gun breech would be a Gunmetal color.
Here is mine never finished.
another view
and yet one more
sorry not really British but I think as land lease would of been painted before shipping.

Hey Tom...
I asked this question when I was building that kit and was told it was the exhaust deflector. I also thought it would be likly that it would also keep stuff from being kicked up into the back of the engine compartment from the tracks..

I believe the horizontal floor below the turret as well as the boxes on the floor that are also up against the rear firewall would all be OD. This prevented an aircraft from seeing a splotch of bright white from overhead. The interior of the turret was OD for the same reason.

Yes, they were painted in the US prior to lend lease and not repainted once taken on charge of Commonwealth forces.
Mind, if you are building a Commonwealth vehicle, there were a few changes that need to be acounted for. First is that the radio needs to be changed for a Mk 19 set. Second is that there are some some small stowage changes like the likely replacement of the US pattern canteens with the Brit pattern ones and small crap like that. There are stowage diagrams available that will show you just what is different.
