Jeff-- check out Lucky Models. $40 is a bit high for that vehicle.

It is an O.K. kit. It does represent an ODS M60A1 pretty well. The best M60 kits on the market are still the old Esci kits (reissued by Italari; M60A1 and M60A3, and Revell: IDF M60 w/Blazer).
Check out this M60 Comparison Article to help you make your mind up.

I agree that the ERA on the Tamiya kit is the best stuff available (when compared to Academy, Trumpeter and Gunze Sangyo). Additionally, the new steel wheels included with the Tamiya USMC M60A1 are the best of the bunch for a Desert Storm tank. Those new road wheels do not come with the older Tamiya M60A3 which is too bad.

That's what I get for trying to list them from memory. I guess my scattered brain isn't what it used to be.

I have a few of the Italieri M60A1 kits. This was my first primary mount, so I am emotionally attached to it. A really good tank that never got the accolades it deserved. Amazingly, I never built one. I guess I am waiting for the interior resin kit that will probably never be. The Italieri kits do look to be good. I have test fitted some of the pieces.

Thanks all.
DJ using the 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby so not paying list price.
Okay painting would be Desert storm sand correct?
I might as well get the paint while their.
So reactive armor would explode minimizing the round that was trying to burn a hole thru the Hull correct?
As compared to nonreactive that would just put up a barrier that would have the round just burn itself against the Hull.

Reactive armor and stand off armor are designed to defeat HEAT type weapons and shaped charges. The explosion of the ERA dissapates the molten stream of the weapon and prevents it from effecting the actual armor of the vehicle.
Stand off armor makes the weapon detonate before it reaches the vehicle armor and hopefully the stream does not penetrate the vehicle.

I have built them all. Tamiya's Marine M60A1 has the best turret , the correct road wheels and ERA armor. ESCI has the best hull. I would kitbash the two and use AFV club track. Use Gino,s idea of using Rustolium Terra Cotta paint for nonslip texture. Works Great.

Actually there is nonslip paint (with texture) applied to the front slope, fender tops, sponson box lids, aircleaner boxes and the top of the rear deck. Prime Portal has some photos from DS showing the nonslip surfaces. Look at the M60A1 RISE with ERA.

Thanks going to look now.
Can't remember back that far but I do remember we had to build a Crib to pull out a Tanker that was up to his fenders in Korean Mud.
Took the M88 and a couple of other pieces of equipment to get him out.
