Heavily armed, reactive armor, nice main gun.........Id say it looks pretty formidable. However, I havent heard of any other incidents between these and other tanks. I think the other Gary here (white 4) knows a bit more on the subject of modern soviet armor. Perhaps he can chime in. You around Gar?

Object 640 Black Eagle (second prototype on top picture). Arguably the only newly designed MBT since T-80U in post USSR Russia, in fact BL is updated version of major T-80U upgrade (sometimes referred to as T-80AT) to overhaul all existing turbine powered T-80s. It is believed that turret was designed first and it remotely controlled and outfitted with Kaktus ERA. As for hull it practically stretched out hull of T-80U to house 1400-1500hp turbine and slightly redesigned glasics. Turret was promised to be able to house either 125mm Rapira series cannons or newly designed 140mm piece plus 2a45 30mm cannon instead of heavy MG. There has been no word of project development since appearance of 'second' prototype in 2001. It is very likely that project is cancelled due to immense lobbying by Uralmash bosses and financial problems of Omsk Transmash, too bad T-90 would lose to BL in every aspect.

I guess the poor Russians are out of Money.
Looks like a heavy armored Tank.
Wonder if they would continue on they most likely could sell some to their other countries.

Didn't the first prototype reportedly have a 152mm gun?
