What is the thing on the right side of turret next to MG? Is it a vision port or place for lamp?

Thanks Gary.

yeah, I know the "mount" for the IR light is just another periscope opening, but it is also the typical spot for mounting the IR light on the turret, if it is done (for whatever reason...?)

Do you know why there is a main sight and a side sight? Being as there is really only one gunner and both weapons are slaved together...is it a independantly moving sight, or is it a cheap stereoscope?

On Revell's model it's represented as something in round shape. From what you're saying I should make that look like glass with, let say light blue tint. Am I right?

Ok gary, I got it. BOTH optics are simply periscopes. And the one on the roof top faces rearward. However, as stated, I have seen IR searchlights mounted above the rooftop perscope. Not sure if it was a factory mount of field-expedient. I know they also mount them above the main MG.

Warlord, your answers all lie here...pictures of the Jacques Littlefield BTR-70. Essentially, yes, it is a main sight that should be clear through.
