My first dio, comments please.
I will add a Tiger I and about 6 men, a engine, barrels, and a few more workshop items .
As you see there is no roof on the building and I don’t know if I should add one.
What do you think?

I hope this will worke.

It would be cool if you added some lights in the building?

Amazing work and your first dio as well. If only I had half your skills in my first dio.

As to your question on the roof it will depend how much of the very detailed work you have already in there will be covered by having the roof. With a roof it will cut out a fair bit of light and may be difficult for the viewer to see all your nice detail work. You could still have a roof but have it detachable like a doll house. Alternatively have a partially damaged roof where a fair bit of the tiles have been knocked off so the viewer can get a top down view.

You've done some nice woodwork but if I were to add anything would be a slightly dark wash to the wood planks closer to the ground to give some contrast. It will help give an illusion of height and depth. Just my 2 cts.

Looking forward to seeing this done up.

Hey Per,
Some additional weathering and staining of the walls and equipment would help to enhance the general atmosphere of the scene, make them look used and well worn,
I can't tell from the photos but some more oil, grease and fuel stains on the floor would also be appropriate.
If you've ever worked in a garage or vehicle repair shop, the one thing you can't avoid is spilled oil or fuel on the floor.
All in all it looks very good.
Looking forward to the finished product.
Cheers

Nice job for a first time.

One very minor pick, the cardboard boxes need scale weight. Crease the corners more so they sit tighter to the ground (the 2nd photo has a box that elevates a bit).

As for a roof, I'd want to show this off and I would do a 'roof line' type of thing. Make a partial roof for the backside. Make the bottom edge normal and life like, make the top edge (near the peak of the roof) a wavey line/edge and paint it red/black. Make the portion of the roof only cover about 1/3 - 1/2 of the back side. That way it gives viewers the impression of a roof and still a view inside.

Wow, very impressive for a first dio, you really went all out on this one!

There are some good suggestions above, i'd say slodders idea of a partial roof would be good, possibly coupled with some lighting?

Excellent stuff anyway and let us see it when its done,

James

Thanks for yours advice

J like to have light in the dio and a roof too, but I don’t find lamps who fit scale 1:35, Dollhouse lamps are too big, and railway scales are too small.
a solution is too make fluorescent lighting, (hide the bulb) but I think it was invent after the war.
The lamps are visible for the viewer

If I find bulb’s in right scale I could made my own lamps

Any solutions

I hope you excuse my English
