Hey all
I just picked up a Revell T-80UD at my LHS. What am I in for with this kit? Is it horrible? This would be my 2nd project, should I save it for later and do my Tamiya T-55 first? I am a little scared seeing some of the info on this forum for the T-80...

Look for info on the 1990s DML T-80, it is the same kit.

T-80UD from Revell is the same as the DML T-80 SMT m1989 kit they did in the early 1990's.
The kit has issues. You may want to do the T-55 first to ease your pain.

So if I wanted to build the "best" T-80 kit, what is my option? The Zvezda Models
ZVE3591 kit?

The best T-80, OOB, is the SKIF kit, warts and all. It is closest to a real T-80. Beyond that...DML's T-80UD, from Zvezda or Revell, are probably second.

Can you define warts? Kind of strange that one of the most built MTB's in the world does not have a good kit.... I am sure I am barking up a tree here.

Any rumors out there of someone making a new...not retooled old kit out there? I have hard that Trumpeter is working on correcting the old Tamiya t-62 kit. Any hope they have the T-80 in the works as well? I don't need perfect (I am willing to accept the Tamiya T-72 as it is), but have no desire to kit bash 2 or 3 kits and spend tons of money on resin correction sets. Modern Russian Armor is an oob hobby for me, the only thing I add is metal gun tubes.

Ya I am honestly shocked there is not a good T-80 or even T-64 kit out there. Even a BMP-2 is hard to come across.
