Hi,
I am not new to painting miniatures but I am a cold stone newbie when it comes to painting and creating "Accurate" historical miniature dioramas.
My grandfather was a Sherman tank commander in africa, Italy and europe so naturaly I will be focusing on WWII USA armored companies and trying to theme my dioramas around the various battlefields he encountered.
Anyway I have purchased several of the verlinden modeling books and purchased a set of Vallejo WWII allied colors acrylic paints. I have a lot of experience with acrylics as I am a wargamer too, so I thought I would stay with acrylic paints.
So to my original question where can I find some resources pointing me to what are the correct paint colors to use for my tanks and armoured company uniforms?
I found what seems to be a really good resource for water slide transfers in archer fine transfers..any comment about them?
thanks for any help.
GG

Welcome to Armorama!
For a lot of answers to your paint questions, this is a good site to surf for U.S. colors: http://www.usarmymodels.com/index.html
Also, Archer makes fantastic markings sets, but they are dry transfers, not decals. They can be made into decals, though (put the transfer on decal film, then apply) as is detailed on the Archers website: http://www.archertransfers.com/ Click on "Application tips" to find a more detailed method of turning transfers into decals.
Enjoy!
