I inquired at the oldgas website and got it confirmed: Azur gasoline stations only existed in France itself, not in any neighboring nations or even in French colonies such as Syria.
Ironically enough, Custom Dioramics only makes their gasoline pumps and stations with the Azur logo, even though CD is not as far as I know a French company. Are there legal reasons for this? There are certainly other gasoline companies from that era which no longer exist. (Azur was absorbed by Total gasoline, which absorbed other smaller gasoline companies as well.)

Maybe it's just because the real 1:1 pump they have used as a model was a Azur one

And I assumed the pump was a standard size and construction which every gasoline station would use. Guess things were different then.
