I like the shape much better. I would run it over a light flame to add some smoke color to it.

Hey Bastian

This seems to be going in the right direction. The shape is better but I would use more yellow and yellow-white to simulate the brightness one sees in fire.

I have actually seen a demonstration of a flamethrower at the American Tank Museum last year. Let me tell you I was 100 ft away when he goosed it and I could feel the heat - felt like sun poisoning really

The mix comes out really tight for the first 6-8 feet and then the flames really start to open up. Your second effort is a little better - maybe you could try to have more of a cyclonic look to it. I like where you are going.....

Howdy bazooka,

I'm really liking where your creation is heading. As we all know you are taking on a very tough subject to portray in the 'static' form....but you seem to have gotten a pretty darn good handle on it so far, keep up the good work!

If you are looking for input, allow me to ask a question first.
What did you make this flame 'cloud' out of?...the reason I ask is; that if the obviously semi-liquid material you used for this came in clear, or translucent I would have used that instead and coloured accordingly.

.......just a thought.

Tread.

The song never metioned a headless flamethrower, just the Thompson Gunner!

Seriously though, it looks great! Yes, you really must sure the info when you get it were you like it. I personally think it looks good as is for that matter.

Don't forget the black smoke that starts generating near the thing that is being burned. Maybe darkened, stretched out cotton battinig?

and tipps
@gordon sorry but i don`t understand what you mean
am i right that you would`nt have colored the flame
it`s made out of hot glue so it`s semi-translucent
so i have to paint it to make it look like flames
sorry but my english is not that good
so i maybe don`t get it right what you mean
cheers

Bazooka,

Nice build. Here are some references that I found which may be help when you do a final touch up.

You may find more if you search google by "Fort Knox, Knob Creek, Machine Gun". Hope this will help your build. By the way, what do you use to build flame?
