Sven-Aake, great model you have done there. I really admire your skill with these small kits.
The zimmerit and camo job looks very good.
I have the same attitude as you. I like to research the vehicles I build and make them as close to the real ones as possible. However, we are here to have fun and I do not see this vehicle as "ruined" in any way, even if Porche Jagdtigers did not have zimmerit and camo painting at the same time. Which I doubt anybody can prove without a doubt. Somebody could have painted them at a later date, one vehicle was not accounted for etc. etc. Artistic license works fine with me
Thanks for sharing

Nice one Sven!
As usual, the finish is exceptional.
I'm very pleased to hear you stomping on the historical accuracy brigade - you've clearly enjoyed this model and the end result is mighty fine. Besides, who really knows what colours Jadgtigers were painted in 1945? The factory records may say one thing but the reality may well have been very different
Thanks for posting
Cheers

We are here to have fun and I do not see this vehicle as "ruined" in any way.
Thanks Jesper!
I'm always very open for advice and constructive critisism since I enjoy
learning about these little tanks and their history but the main reason for
me doing this is to have some fun and spend a few hours to cool down
from the stress at work.
I'd much rather do a vehicle that is pleasing to the eye than 100% correct.
I'm glad you like it although it has it's faults
Best regards

Thanks Karol !!!
I'm pleased to hear that you like it
I have the deepest respect for the people who have so much knowledge
about their favorite subjects but I do not have respect for those who try
to force-feed their opinions down my throat with such remarks. I'm a
keen listener and would have loved to hear it in a slightly different manner.
I guess it comes with the territory and since I always build "backwards"
meaning that I build first and then check the references later there will
always be faults but as long as I'm pleased with it myself I don't really
worry too much
Cheers

historicaly accurate or not... this JT seems mighty beautiful. whatever one may feel whether a kit was done accurately or not should be beside the point. what really matters in my opinion is the satisfaction the builder himself gets. to me that's the essence of this hobby: enjoy what you are doing.
some people get their highs by building something accurate, others simply just want to build. its really just a matter of personal taste.
cheers!

Thank You Very Much Mike !!!
I'm really thrilled that it went so well with the Jagdtiger, I didn't think
it would have a chance to score that well...
Best regards and thanks again!!!

congratulations too for the gold in braille scale! just goes to show that a kit doesn't have to be historically accurate to earn a commendation. again, congratz!

Very inspiring build, Sven Åke. I'm impressed with your technique and will certainly try it on some of my own tinies.

Thanks Raphael !!!
It would perhaps not stand a chance in a contest where historical
correctness was judged but to my knowledge no such contest
exists, I have never attended one and probably never will either
I build for fun and to a certain extent also to please my eye, I make
them so they look "good" and if that means to stray from the path
of correctness then so be it.
I'm glad you like it !!!
Thanks

Tack Kyrre !!!
Good to hear that you like it
I think the technique works well in most cases and is not
dependant of the end colour of the vehicle. I've used it on
german grey, russian green, nato cammo, swedish splinter
cammo, plain desert colours and so on so it works really well.
I hope to see some of your work once you've tried this system...
Best Regards

This is...just fantastic !!! It looks like a 1/35 superdetailed tank !!! I couldn't believe my eyes, and the painting and weathering is just S T U N N I N G, looks perfect like the real stuff.
I was surprised to see this is really possible in this small scale, you have inspired me to run to the model shop and buy myself such a lovely 1/72 box. Thank you for sharing this piece of art with us ! Greetz Guy.

I celebrated a Bronze medal win for my T-80BV at WASMEx 2007, here in Perth with a big spend up at the vendors stands (who can resist 50% off?) and the buy, swap and sell. I brought home over 20 1:72 armour kits
Luckily my wife supports me!
Got a gold in Civil Air but that is another story!
Sven-Åke, it is braille scale modellers like you that offer no end of encouragement and enthusiasm with your builds. I would love to see a "blow by blow" build article!
cheers
Mike

Congratulations Mike!!!
Well deserved bronze I must say!!!
It's going to be very interesting to follow you going through all
those kits you brought home... I hope you'll show pics of them
once you start building them...
Oh, about the guide, yes I have started one and I'ts moving along
slowly since there's a lot of competitions that I have to attend so
I have not enough time to concentrate on both building for the
competitions and building and photographing for the manual.
Here's a sample page of what I'm doing...
