Hi Chad, I guess you must've bought those books I told you about. I will be ok to finish my FAMO by then, as I still cannot get to my model room upstairs due to my ankle.
This is a cool idea......and hey, hope the pressure keeps up in the truck and keep truckin good buddy

Ive got a multigun M3 sittin' waiting to be built. Sounds good to me. These campaigns are great 'kicks in the but' to get me going.

Another possibility could be a "light utility vehicle" group build : ford T, jeep, mutt, VBL... and so on...

Sounds good to me also. I've got a Tamiya US half track that I've been wanting an excuse to make like one my Dad served on in WWII. This is as good a reason as I can think of to get to it.

Sounds great to me. I have several like the Tamiya M3A2 (who doesn't have this one?) and the Tamiya Kannonewagon (my son started it several years ago, but it was way beyond his abilities). I even have a Bandai Opal Maultier, this thing looks like it belongs on an Indy Jones movie.

If Mal is in, then I will be in too. usually I don't care for light utility vehicles, but if Mal is in for this. I like to be his wing man, and escort this lil' wingy person in our evil tread land safe....

I don't normally have the time to build subjects for theme contests but this one happens to coincide with a project I'm already knee-deep into - a kitbash of the Italeri and ESCI SdKfz 10/4 halftracks. I should just about have it done by late summer, early fall. Count me "in".

This would be a very good idea. Having group builds on specific themes, like halftracks, light utility vehicles, AFV's etc. will help all of us getting the information more quickly. This would also help whomever is searching for a specific subject. I think we can also include techniques used throughout the building process, if there's time for that of course.
Kind regards,
Sebastian

I'm in. Got either half-tracks or light utility vehicles to do. Maybe a 251/22? I also have the Kirin 251/17 conversion that looks cool.
I have always likethe M3 US Halftrack, but the Tamiya kit tracks are so bad looking...anyone have an idea on how to help make them better?
And nothing really modern...oh well!

:-)
Thanks Dave.
I've been doing some searching through some old kits and found the Horch, mentioned elsewhere and a jeep. Found a couple of built up kits that I had boxed up and put away too.
I was nearly tempted yesterday to re-enter the dark side and spend some of my birthday money on a target. Tiger 1 Wespa? T55, but the l must have the Arado Ar 234.

all you guys and your fascination with flying pop cans...
as for the contest, were you envisioning things like postwar softskins in this? It might be interesting to be able to build, say, a URAL 4320 or the M923A1, or HEMMT for us modern geeks.

That's an interesting idea for a group campaign. I've never done any of the 25? series of halftracks or an M3 for that matter....I'm in!

Glad to see interest in the half track group build As far as the light utility vehicles some of you suggested,I'm not sure if that would fit in with the group theme I know some of the German half tracks could be considered light utility,ie the Demag D7 from Italeri
What I was thinking was any type of half track any nation, and any time period That way there is a lot to choose from However I could also see a light utility/half track group build instead
Let me know what y'all think

HI guys
I'm in for a halftrack build. I have a Tamiya 251 with the AFV Club update set that has been tempting me for a while!
Personally, I think just halftracks, any era is a wide enough scope. We could have another light utility build some time. The Halftracks will have their own track/weathering/armor idiosyncracies that we can all deal with in the build.
Cheers
Andy

I think I'll be in with a Tamiya M3 Halftrack from a Regiment of Italian Cavalry somewhere in the 50s.

Sounds good. Try planning it for after Op Barbarossa though. I can only handle one campaign at a time #:-)
