I'm nearing completion of my Trumpeter Strv 103C and am pondering creating the RPG fence on the front. I'd like to make it dirty and finish it like it's on maneuvers. So my questions are:
Is the RPG fence that common and is it only put only in the event of actual war threat? I could drill the holes but leave them empty.

Also is the fuel can armor usually put on in the field?

I found some pictures of the Strv through Google but they all look like the B version.

Thanks,
Paul

I have only ever seen the "gate" style fence on the front of an S-Tank once. I can get a pic for you if you need, but it looks horrible... :-)

Try this links:

At least its something.
I can tell you that the RPG fence at the front was a secret and almost never used in manouvers. The skirt tanks on the other hand was widely used. More as a rule than an exception.

Full Metal Jacket has a lot of pics of 2 different Strvs with the RPG fence but they are both museum pieces.
