Apart from the huge guns of the British AS-90 SPG used in Umm Qasr and Basra, what are the British towed artillery pieces being used, are they the 155mm FH 70 ?????
Anyone know?
Thanks in advance guys

According to BBC the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery and the 7th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery have deployed, with 155mm AS90s and 105mm light guns only. The 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is equipped with the AS90 and the 7th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is equipped with the L118 105mm gun, so this sounds accurate.
The 105mm looks like this:
Oh, and this is the third Gulf War, not the second.
Cheers,
Linz

Wasn't the first Gulf War the one between Iraq and Iran in the 1970s?

It's just that the BBC and the MoD have referred to this war as Gulf War II and / Or Operation Telic

Apparently that picture has now gone, but here is the Australian example (similar in appearance)
The First Gulf War was Iran-Iraq (1980-88)
The Second was Operation Desert Storm (1991)
And the third is Operation Iraqi Freedom (ergh) (2003-)

Thanx very much for the info.....now I have to find a kit of this gun.........or at least something similar which can be converted.

The BBC has reported on Paladins in action. The mis-fire destroyed the vehicle. Anyone have a pic of a paladin?

The L118 is used by only 2 regiments at the moment, one is 7 RHA and the other is 29 Commando, both of which are currently in the gulf. The US marines might also have some, but theirs is called the M119 they made a few changes when they bought it (a shorter barrel with rifling that increases as it gets further up the barrel and they opted for a mechanical firing mech whereas ours is electrical). If you are thinking of doing a gun from this conflict when you find a gun be careful because all the British guns have had their open sights removed and now have several boxes full of electronics instead.
If you would like some pictures just PM me and I'll send some.
