Alright guys need a little help. I have the four pictures that are in about every book and on every site with the disabled Berge Tiger at the side of the road near the pole. I know it had zimmeret and a three color camo scheme most likely a blotch pattern faded into each other.
Does anyone know of any other pictures and/or references showing more pictures of this particular vehicle ( or any other one). In addition are there any pictures or commentaries any where that gives the markings for these particular vehicles. As always all help is appreciated.

Hi Tanks;

You are out of luck. There was only one built and it's not a "berge"Tiger. Phil Kangur is of the opinion this vehicle served with s.Pz.Abt. 508, a unit that used Borgward DCLs. It is only speculation, but maybe this unit were looking for a better protected DCL than their vulnerable B.IVs If you look at the size of the boom and the winch, what the hell was it berging, BMW 350's??

Anyway, pretty much the photos you have are it.

As far as I know, the term "bergetiger" is a misnomer, even if Italeri promotes the kit as such. The proper term is "tiger support vehicle". As you point out Paul, that boom and it's hand cranked winch would never do much to move a Tiger I. I think it was meant more to lift engines or other such objects for service.
I agree with Paul, I think those few photos are the only ones we know of Butch.

Thanks, Howitzer, I didn't realize that it didn't copy correctly to be clickable.

Hi guys, first I would like thank you all for your responses. I was afraid that the pics out there of this particular vehicle were the ones that all of us have seen. Although I used the "Berge" Tiger name no doubt that it was no more than a engine service/maintenance vehicle and a tow by cable vehicle. I just think it is another interesting vehicle from the German Tiger series. However I was hoping that there was some obscure facts, books or sites I may have been missing. I also thought that three had been produced based on some information i had read some where. So now that allows me to use artistic license! :-) Anyway I appreciate your responses as always - and this is the best site for modeling large scale or small!

According to the notes that come with the kit.......... 3 were produced. I think they were used in Italy. I bought this kit, because I had read so much about Italeris zimmerit on the kit. Havent built it yet, but Looking forward to when I get the time to.
