Hi all,
Was wondering if original suspension. of Humvee 1046. with Tow ,was painted in sand or kept in black color.
Same goes for the rest of suspension.
Thanks

Depends. Normally, if the vehicle is 3-tone NATO camo, the suspension , frame, and undercarriage will be flat black. If it came in original Sand, it may be either black or sand. If it was originally camo and repainted sand, the underside is usually repainted sand as well, or at least what gets hit from the overspray when the vehicle is repainted.

Our USMC M1046's in ODS were originally the Tri-color Nato camo; so, the undercarriage was black. When we painted them sand, it was hand brushed and we only painted the body of the vehicle.
Last year, there was an Army M1046 at our State Fair that was painted sand. I don't know if it was originally tri-color; but, the interior was green and the undercarriage was black.
