Yes, Osprey modelling manuals #9, (Modelling WWII Figures), it has a few pages on a step by step painting of Waffen SS colors. But if you want a really good job done and no painting neccessary, try using Shinsengumi Comouflage Pattern Decals. I have 3 sets and plan on getting the whole range, which is about 6 in all, one sheet will do about 5 figures if you are a good tailor. I got mine a the Barrelstore, you can find it on the perth military modeling site. Hope this helps.

Have a look at the articles by Mark Bannerman on Missing Lynks. Theres some specific SS articles where he uses Humbrols and oils.

Both are good references. Also surf the web for SS Uniforms. There are some websights that post pictures of both original and repro uniforms, fabric swatches, and insignia. They change all the time according to availability of the items.

Calvin Tans "Modeling Waffen SS Figures" by Osprey is your best bet. Mr. Tan breaks down the complex patterns and camo types to a very easy and do-able level. If your really into Waffen SS uniforms, the series " Uniforms of the Waffen SS" by Michael Beaver is about the best there is. He also wrote a smaller book called Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen SS" but I have not seen it.
Mr. Tan also has a "Webshots" album with wip photos, Google "Calvin Tan" and go from there
