good day all!
as you have read the topic title, i was wondering if there were any green chally 2's that were deployed in iraq? coz i've seen a couple of pictures wherein abrams tank in NATO camo in bagdhad.. i was wondering if the same could go with the chally 2..
here's what i meant.. except with white CIPs maybe..
were any of these sent to iraq?
any help would be appreciated! thanks!

Hi,
There have been several units to use green challys in Iraq.
Ive seen pics of Scots Dragoon Guard tanks in green, from approx 2005.
They are overall green, with bar armour.
Often the frames for the front armour and other small items are sand though so might be worth finding a picture of a specific tank.
Regards
Joe

You won't find any images of the Challenger 2 in green during the invasion of Iraq.
The NATO green painted Challenger 2s were brought in around the Basra area as other units rotated out. The NATO green Challenger 2s have the slat armour package added to them...no CIPs.
Do a search on Getty Images for "Basra Tank" and you will find some images from 2005.
Pick up the Osprey Modelling the Challenger 1 and 2 MBT and variants...there is a feature build on a NATO green Challenger 2 with the slat armour package.
There is also a colour plate of a NATO green Challenger 2 with bar armour in Iraq after the invasion in the Osprey New Vanguard Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank 1987-2006.
On all of them the canvas dust skirts have been removed.

Yup, the AS-90 was part of the invasion force...same yellowish tan as the Challengers.
Do a Google image search for "Iraq AS-90".
