Would it be possible to add a feature to the post editing function that would allow people to edit the topic line in their post?
Also, why can't you edit a post that is more than a couple days old? I would think it would save space if you could edit an older post rather than having to enter another one.
Thanks

WOW, I was just going to ask the same question.
In my case I seem to have lost some pics I posted over on the feedback forum and wanted to go bad and add them again since I am doing a WIP. I really don't want to start a new thread with all of the new pics I now need to add so please, if there's a way I wwould truly appreciate some help on this.

Good point. There are only two forums that I know of that has this feature active and I think it is a good idea. So why isn't this feature active on this board?

IIRC it's all forums.... there's like a 24 hour window for edititing them at this point. I don't recall why Jim had changed it. The Forum Moderator can still edit them for you.

I have in the past thought of giving the original poster some lee-time for editing a topic name. But again it would likely only be for 24 hours or so. This wouldn't really accomplish what some people are looking for to re-invent their topic name to change status (like for a buy-sell-trade post). The structure of forum posting is that each post is a time-stamp on when that comment was made (and what the original comment was). So by being able to go back 1 week, 1 month or 1 year later and change that post distorts the actual record of what was posted. That is why we have the 24hr editing window (to correct typos, or re-phrase if needed). Not to ammend after weeks, etc.
Thanks,
Jim
