Hi all!
This is afv clubs kit, which is one of the nicest models ive built in a while and is stunningly well detailed, although im pleased I bought 3 of these kits-during the build I lost all the kit headlight lenses as they dont fit the lights very well and just flicked out, be careful with this stage! Ive built it ootb as I can be bothered with any major detailing at this stage, I just wanted to have some fun painting it. I still have a bit of work to do on it, mainly just add stowage and possibly some crew figures. Painted using Vallejo colours, ive weathered it with some MIG filters and oil washes. Ive added some subtle and minimal scrapes and scratches using a black chalk and HB writing pencil. The pics arent brillaint as the lighting wasnt great-the paint looks quite dark, the green is actually a lot lighter in reality.

Nice work Rob,
like the weathering and the "footprints" on the top.
detail painting is amazing in my opinion.
Do you want to add some stowage to your great work??
skoll^^

Rob, a very beautiful build you got there. I love it. May I ask how you painted the tools? What color did you use? Thank you.

Very impressive Rob, she looks great. I need to know one thing…how did you do the mud and wreathing technique, please I need to know as I just can not get it down and I like how yours came out. What stowage sets are you adding on.

Thanks for the comments everyone, really appreciate all the praise!
The mud and dirt on the lower body was quite easy to do, here what I did-
First I added some texture and lumps of mud and grass by mixing up some MIG acrylic paste with fine sand and static grass, this was pasted onto the model. Onto this mixture I poured some fine resin dust to creat finer dirt and filth(I collect resin dust for such tasks when sanding resin. Resin dust is great for very fine dirt and soil, I always do this outside to avoid breathing it in and keep it in a pot in the garage)
Once the basic texture was done I let it dry for a day or so. To create the colour i simply mixed up some Vallejo flat earth with other brown colours and sprayed the area with a couple of thinned coats, I added some buff to give some colour variation.
Finally some mig pigments were applied to add a little more colour variation-its real simple!

Thanks for the goos tip but you forgot to answer my question about what colors you used to paint the tools handles. Thanks again.

Woops! Sorry Charles, I was in a bit of a rush-we actually have sun today so im rushing about to go down the beach
Yer the tools were real simple. I gave them a base coat of Vallejo dark yellow mixed with flat earth(any brown colour will do) this created the basic light wood colour. To obtain the grain effect I simply used MIG dark brown oil colour mixed with a little bit of thinners(not too much, not too little) and streaked on some lines to create a grainy effect. Finally I applied a little bit of pastel dust to tone it down a bit. The metal bits are just dark grey with some HB pencil weathering.
