Jim / technical staff,
I am not sure if this belongs here or not but I really dont know where to go to ask this question. Here's my question...I originally joined the big A on 16 Nov 2002 under the callsign sfcsummit. After I came back from Iraq, I could not remember my password so rejoined ARMORAMA under my current callsign msgsummit. Is there any way I could have the enlistment date of my current callsign changed to reflect the actual date I joined this great site? Sorry if I sound petty or put this in an inappropriate area. Thanks for your time.

Did you try to use the Login Problem option click on the login page?
You'll need to type in your original callsign, sfcsummit, then your email.
might work.

Should I PM staff Jim directly or someone else? I kind of feel bad....Jim is a busy guy.

Staff Jim you out there Anyone from the technical staff?

If I remember correctly, i tried to update my old callsign but couldn't. Any tips on how to go about this?

You could get ahold of him directly, but he also checks this particular forum regularly as well.

That's a new one.

I will see what I can do but just keep in mind I don't want to open a huge can of worms on this kind of issue as you are like user 1 of 100 or so active users that probably have had this scenario happen to.

What I really need to do is fix the forgot password function so this kind of thing doesn't happen too much in the future. I guess there will always be bad emails though. I can always manually reset passwords for people who have this problem. Just contact me offline if you do.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim, Thanks.....I appreciate it. If it opens a 55 gallon drum of headaches for you...I completely understand and apologize in advance.

Accounts merged. You should be able to login to the old account with your newer password courtesy of cut-and-pasting in the encrypted password. If not let me know.
