I need some help with what colors to use for painting German uniforms.
Gebirgsjager, Fallschrimjager, Waffen SS & Grenadiers. There are a lot of mfgs' and colors. What brand & what color? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Osprey has a good selection of booklets in their Men at Arms series with illustrations of the appropriate colors and historical background covering uniform regulations.
Europa Militaria also offers paperback books featuring color photos of live models wearing preserved uniforms, which give a better idea of the range of shades seen on actual issue items.

ok i can deffernately help you here first:
for reference purposes there is an excellent book from Histoire Collections very good with colour photos of uniforms and equipment ranging right through world war two
http://www.amazon.com/German-Soldiers-World-War-Two/dp/2915239355/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-1161673-1488024?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186440301&sr=1-1 .

Second: Vallejo Model Colour offer some great colours for painting both standard german uniforms and camouflage and offer two sets for that purpose well worth check out the website.

Thanks very much for your input. I checked the Vallejo website as you suggested. I have found the paint sets at The Squadron Shop. Thanks again.

If you're getting Vallejo paints check out Colorado Miniatures. Gray Creager, the owner, is "one of us" and he'll give you great advice and great prices.
