Howdies all - I have almost completed the Trumpeter version of the Stryker, and the AFV Club box is sitting next to my work bench, waiting to be started.
I would very much like on both to represent Strykers that are based locally - Ft. Lewis in Washington State. Neither of the instructions give a "based at..." note for any of the "schemes" (and of course by schemes, I mean numerical decals)
Anyone happen to know how to determine what markings represent what base on these beasts?
And yes - I am aware that without the anti-RPG slats neither kit can actually be considered a "serving in the sandbox" Stryker, but I will be modeling them that way anyhow. I am hoping that someone smarter than I will eventually come up with a PE set of the 'venetian blinds' addition, but for now I know I'd delay working on them if I even consider trying to scratch it with reams of styrene
.... lol
TIA much everyone. Apologies if a dumb question...

To answer your question up front, any of the markings with 2 I on the left side would be from Ft Lewis.
25 I is from Lewis if the makings are 25 I 1-33^ (^ being a triangle for AR Bn, would have MGS), 25 I 1-24 I, 25 I 1-5 I, 0r 25 I 3-21 I. These are the 1st SBCT, 25 ID units.
Right now, 3 Stryker BDEs are still based out of Ft Lewis; 3rd and 5th Brigades, 2d Infantry Division; and 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Light). Other Stryker BDEs are the 172nd Infantry Brigade (Separate) at Ft. Wainwright in Alaska; and they are planned for the 2nd Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division (Light) at Schofield Barracks, HI; and the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (Light) at Ft. Polk, LA. There is another Stryker BDE planned for Europe, but I don't think it is up and running yet either.
