Hi everybody,
I am about to do a Chieftain Mk.3 from about 1969-71 and was wondering 'Could I do as a BATUS' vehicle? What I need to know is when did BATUS open.
This is the sixth in MAFVA Essex new display of post war 'C' tanks, the first five (Comet, Centurion 5, Conqueror, Challenger 1 & Challenger 2) will be on display at Present Arms next week.
Many thanks
Lee

The British troops didn't arrive in Suffield and establish BATUS until January 1972.
In July 1972 the 4th Royal Tank Regiment Battle Group fired the first live fire rounds at BATUS.
