Hi all,
I'm making my first tree (1/35 scale) and so far so good .. the difficult part are leaves. The tree is a Platanus and the leaves should like this :

Does anyone has any suggestions how to make these (cheap is poss..)
many thanks

Well You have a few options
Herbs
Laser cut leaves
PE leaves
Pre made
Home made paper leaves
Herbs are cheap and fairly easy. Downside is they won't look exactally like what your photo shows. You also will want to use a bit of lichen underneeth to make the smaller branches.
Laser cut leaves are expensive mostly because you need so many.
PE leave - see laser cut leaves
Pre made is expensive and hard to find in 1/35th.
There are some cutting dies that are in the shape of leaves, easy cheap. Hard to find the dies and the scale can be oversized.

In the US you can find them in Craft Stores and in stationary/paper stores. Not sure about in Belgium

I keep running into the same problem, someone else suggested to me to crumble real leaves, kind of works but not perfect, the craft punches are all too big so far as i have found, i think a milling machine and some steel are in my future, if i get a punch made soon i will post it...

Diorama thread
check out this thread. The leaves look good and well shaped - I asked what they are because of this thread - keep your eye out on it.

Hudson and Allen sells leaves in their Litter series.
But hard to find.
Also try Birch seed pods from Finland.

To do a whole tree or series of them but I guess the ones from Plus Model come closest looking.

There was an article I read somewhere, I can't find it for the moment, showing collecting a catkin from a certain type of tree, and when you break it down it looks like miniature leaves.
I can't remember on which site I saw it but if I come across it I'll post a link.
