Hi guys,

I have this T-72B stacked with ERA bricks and I want to make a Chechnya dio with it. The tank has been hit by an RPG on the rear so it got knocked out. I'll put a sniper on top of it to inspect the vehicle.

Does anybody have a pic of a knocked out T-72 by RPG. Google doesn't show me anything. Maybe I'm looking wrong??

Thanks,

Matthijs

There are some images on Corbis .com I found this
http://put.url.here http://pro.corbis.com/popup/Enlargement.aspx?mediauids={a0311de3-7417-4091-8c56-3b750e861358}|{ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff}&qsPageNo=1&fdid=&Area=Search&TotalCount=51&CurrentPos=47&WinID={a0311de3-7417-4091-8c56-3b750e861358}

Just remember, the Chechens employ Hunter Killer teams employing usually a sniper and machine gunner to deal with infantry and then use multiple RPGs launched simultaniuosly at the tanks. The Backblast delay makes it easy for the Russians to pick them out so they launch The RPG 7 or 13s together to ensure a "kill".

I might have some images here on disk let me check.

Russian Army didn't use T-72A in either Chechen campaign. That's white topped Chechen T-72 that was knocked out by Federals. There were quite a few of them.

All it would be is a small hole with a splattered metal effect around it. Not much to see. Some discolored metal around it for maybe a few inches and that is it. Only other way to tell it was knocked out is from BAE (Behind Armor Effects). Engine Fire, ammo cookoff, full compartment fire etc... only the engine fire, especially if it was modestly done, would leave much of a hulk behind.

Notice in the picture above that while the tank is, I assume, knocked out, it does not look that bad. Make sure the the barrel droops (loss of hydraulic power causes this) and the hatches are left open a bit if not all the way and you pretty much have a knocked out tank.
